Ang mga sakit sa pagkabalisa ay karaniwan sa mga bata at matatanda. Sa Pilipinas, ang depresyon at pagkabalisa ay may kaugnayan. Sa isang artikulo, binanggit na “Ang isang pag-aaral sa “Journal of Adolescent Health” ay sumuri sa 264 kabataan tungkol sa kanilang paggamit ng “social media” at mga negatibong nakatala sa ilalim ng “New England Family Study (NEFS), Magtubo, C. (n.d.)…”.
Ano nga ba ang anxiety disorders?
Ang anxiety disorders o karaniwan nating tawaging anxiety ay isang grupo ng mga karamdaman sa pagiisip. Ang mga karamdamang nabibilang sa grupong ito ay maaring magdulot ng iba’t ibang uri ng sintomas.
Mga Karaniwang Sintomas ng anxiety
- Matinding kaba
- Panic (sobrang takot)
- Palpitation (Mabilis na pagtibok ng puso)
- Hyperventilation (Mababaw at mabilis na paghinga)
- Increased perspiration (pagpapawis)
- Lethargy
- Restlessness (hindi mapakali)
- Insomia (hirap o hindi makatulog)
- Matinding pagiisip
Mayroong ilang mga uri ng pagkabalisa. Ito ay ang mga sumusunod:
Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD)
Ang “Generalized Anxiety Disorder o GAD” ay nailalarawan sa pamamagitan ng paulit-ulit na pagkabalisa at pag-aalala. Ang mga taong nakakaranas ng GAD ay nababahala sa maraming mga bagay tulad ng:
- Kalusugan
- Kayamanan o salapi
- Pag-aalala tungkol sa buhay
Ano ang mga Sintomas ng Generalized Anxiety Disorder o Lubus na Pagkabalisa
Mayroong ilang mga sintomas ng GAD. Nasasaad ang mga sumusunod::
- Balisa
- Pagkamayamutin
- Tensiyon ng kalamnan
- Nahihirapang pag tugon o pag tuon
- Mga problema sa pagtulog
- “Hypervigilance”
Panic Disorder
Ang panic disorder ay minarkahan ng paulit-ulit na pag-atake ng sindak na maaaring magsama ng maraming mga sintomas kabilang ang mga nakalista sa ibaba:
- Pagpapawis
- Panginginig
- Kakapusan ng hininga (sensation of asphyxiation)
- Pakiramdam ng Laging nabubulunan/nasasamid
- Mabilis na tibok ng Puso
- Pakiramdam na laging takot/ Matatakutin
Ang mga tao na nakararanas ng “panic attack” ay nagiging matatakutin samakatuwid nakakaapekto ito sa kanilang pang-araw-araw na buhay.
Phobias
Ang mga “Phobias” ay lubhang pagkatakot tungkol sa ilang mga bagay, tulad nang gagamba at Ahas. Ang pagkakalantad sa mga bagay na ito ay maaaring maging sanhi ng matinding pagkabalisa.
Ang mga “psychologist” at “psychiatrist” ay sinanay sa pag-diagnose ng mga sakit sa pagkabalisa at pagtuturo sa mga pasyente ng malusog, mas epektibong paraan upang malabanan ito. Ang isang anyo ng “psychotherapy” na kilala sa tawag na Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (o ‘CBT’) ay lubos na epektibo sa pagpapagamot ng mga sakit sa pagkabalisa. Sa pamamagitan ng CBT, tinutulungan ng mga “psychologist” ang mga pasyente na matutunang kilalanin at iwasan ang mga sanhi nang kanilang pagkabalisa.

Ang “psychotherapy” ay isang “collaborative” na proseso nang “psychologist” at pasyente para sa mas malalim na pagkilala sa mga alalahanin. Ang psychologist at ang kliyente ay bumubuo ng mga kongkretong mga kasanayan at diskarte upang makaya ang suliranin. May mga sitwasyon na kung saan ang kliyente ay kailangang magsanay sa mga natutunan sa mga sesyon, sa ganitong paraan maaari niyang simulan ang pamamahala ng kanyang pagkabalisa nang mas mahusay sa mga sitwasyon na nagpapahirap sa kanya.
Ang mga sakit sa pagkabalisa ay nagagamot. Karamihan sa mga pasyente na nagdurusa nito ay maaaring alisin o bawasan ang mga sintomas nito pagkatapos lamang nang ilang buwan. Ang ilang mga pasyente ay nag-ulat pa ng mga “improvements” pagkatapos lamang ng ilang sesyon sa isang psychologist.

- Muscle tension
- Difficulty responding or focusing
- Sleep problems
- Hypervigilance
Panic Disorder
Panic disorder is marked by recurrent episodes of terror that may include many of the symptoms listed below:
- Sweating
- Trembling
- Shortness of breath (sensation of asphyxiation)
- Feeling of choking
- Rapid heart rate
- Feeling of impending doom

Phobias
Phobias are extreme fears of certain things, such as spiders and snakes. Exposure to these things can cause intense anxiety.

One form of psychotherapy known as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is highly effective in treating anxiety disorders.
